S6 of the UAE tour : Wolves tactics make another contribution, Sam Bennett scored twice

On February 26th, the sixth stage of the Tour of UAE ended. Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) defeated Elia Viviani (Team Cofidis) and Pascal Ackermann (BORA-hansgrohe) in the sprint battle on Palm Jumeirah and won the stage again.

After the race started, a number of riders launched a breakout action. Among them, Tony Gallopin (AG2R Citroën) took the lead in passing the first sprint point and regained the sprint points black jersey from Thomas De Gendt (Lotto Soudal). In such a flat stage, the lead of the breakout rider never exceeded 4 minutes, and the game proceeded unhurriedly.

Entering the last 72km, a crosswind disrupted the rhythm of the main group. The teams fought on their own. The rhythm of the race took off instantly. When there was still 25km from the finish line, the breakout riders were all recovered. Entering the last few kilometers, several convoys took turns to lead the bombing of Palm Jumeirah, and the sprint battle was about to start.

The time for the decisive battle arrived. Among the sprinting riders, Sam Bennett took a favorable position with the help of his teammates, launched a fierce attack in the last 150m, and finally won the stage championship. David Dekker reacted quickly and quickly bit Sam Bennett's rear wheel, but he was quickly exposed to the wind, gradually losing speed and falling behind. Elia Viviani took advantage of the trend and followed Sam Bennett to cross the line, while Pascal Ackermann was in a poor position and missed the title again.
