The race officially started on a magnificent bridge. Two Swiss drivers joined forces to break through. SCHÄR (CCC) and Stefan KüNG (FDJ) quickly separated from the main group and established a 1-minute lead 1km after the start of the race. The main group is led by Lotto Soudal and Deceuninck-Quick-Step, and the time gap is controlled at about one and a half minutes. This puts a lot of pressure on the breakout drivers.
In the final 100km of the race, the main group has come to the rear of the breakout riders. A wave of leaders from Deceuninck-Quick-Step team tore the main group apart, POELS (Bahrain McLaren), SIVAKOV (INEOS Grenadiers), BUCHMANN (Bora-Hansgrohe) , Dan MARTIN (Israel Start-Up Nation) and others were left behind, and the two Swiss breakout drivers were quickly recovered.

World champions Mads PEDERSEN, SKUJIŅŠ (Trek-Segafredo), POWLESS (EF Education First), ROCHE (Team Sunweb), GESINK (Team Jumbo-Visma) ), BEWLEY (MITCHELTON-SCOTT) and other riders were involved. This fall completely ended BEWLEY’s Tour de France tour. Then the main group was divided into two. The first group led by Team Jumbo-Visma slowed down, allowing all the lagging drivers to return to the team. The main group continued to race in strong winds.

At 65km from the end, the main group crashed again. This time, POGAČAR, FORMOLO (UAE TEAM EMIRATES), Guillaume MARTIN (Cofidis Solutions Crédits), POLITT (Israel Start-Up Nation) and COQUARD (B&B Hotels-Vital Concept), etc. The people fell to the ground, but the main group did not have full firepower, and the lagging drivers all returned to the team about 56km from the finish line.

There is still 45km in the race. INEOS Grenadiers, Deceuninck-Quick-Step, Bahrain McLaren, EF Education First and UAE TEAM EMIRATES team lead the ride in front of the main group. The sprint point on the way is 39km before the finish line, waiting for the sprinters. 's arrival The battle for the sprint started, TRENTIN (CCC) took the lead, Sagan followed closely, and Sam Bennett clenched Sagan again. In the end, TRENTIN rushed to a maximum speed of 66.6km/h, defeating Sagan again to get the first sprint point, Sagan second, and Sam Bennett third.

So far, TRENTIN's sprint points have reached 118 points, and the ranking has risen to third place. Sagan held 155 points, 9 points ahead of Sam Bennett, and temporarily ranked first in the sprint standings.

When there was still 30km to the end, the middle of the group crashed, BARGUIL (Team Arkea Samsic) fell to the ground, and the main group was once again drawn into a long dragon. Although the lagging drivers returned quickly, the strong wind blowing from the front still disrupted the formation of the main group. ASGREEN (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) took the lead in the front and the Sun Nets team behind him.

The leading team in front of the main group has undergone several rounds of rotation, and the INEOS Grenadiers team led the main group into the last 20km at a speed of about 60km/h. At this time, a cross wind raided the sea and the main group split into two groups. Team Jumbo-Visma took over the lead in the chaos, and the pace of the race was fast enough to fly. Soon after, a car crashed behind the main group, KOCH (CCC), VALVERDE (Movistar Team) and LóPEZ (Astana Pro Team) fell to the ground, and Alafilipe suffered a mechanical failure and fell behind.
There was a bridge before the finish line. The strong crosswind was the drivers' worst enemy. Stefan KüNG tried to attack again but failed, and COLBRELLI (Bahrain McLaren) fell behind. Leaving the bridge, the Movistar Team took over the lead task and the race entered the last 10km.

The Team Jumbo-Visma team protected VAN AERT in front of the main group. Sagan and Sam Bennett were at the back of the group. With the last 5km, it was time for the teams to start lining up. As the road widened, Team Sunweb, Deceuninck-Quick-Step, NTT Pro Cycling, UAE TEAM EMIRATES also came to the front of the group, and BOL (Team Sunweb) led the main group into the last 3km at a speed of 60km/h.

The sprint battle started, and the sprinters started rushing in the last 500m. Under the leadership of his teammates, Sam Bennett waited until his sprint window. Ewan grabbed Sagan in front of him and bit the Irishman's rear wheel tightly. Sagan was gradually thrown away by the two. In the end Sam Bennett sprinted to victory and won his first Tour de France championship. Ewan took second place, Sagan took third place, and VIVIANI fourth.

At the end of the stage, Roglič retained the overall result to lead the yellow jersey. Sam Bennett surpassed Sagan by 21 points in sprint points, ranking first with 196 points and won the sprint green jersey. This is a non-slope stage, so COSNEFROY continues to wear a climbing polka dot shirt, BERNAL is still the best young driver. Stefan KüNG won the Combativity award.
